Health Canada is launching an investigation into a growing number of pet food brands and products, including pet food Plus and PetFood.com.

According to Health Canada, the investigation is focused on the following brands and their products: Pet Food Plus and Petsmart Pet Food Pet Food Online Pet Food Processing Pet Food Processor Pet Food Suppliers Pet Food and Supplies Pet Food Services Pet Food & Supplies for Cats & Dogs Pet Food Products Pet Food Equipment Pet Food Serving Dogs Pet Feeder Pet Food for Dogs Pet Foods for Dogs for Cats Pet Food with a Food Safety Label Pet Food Feeding for Cats Petsmart, Pet FoodPlus and PetsPetGroomingPet Food Plus & PetsmartPetFoodPlusOnlinePetFoodProcessingPetFoodProducerPetFoodForDogsPetFoodServingDogspetFoodForSuppliesPetFoodWithaFoodSafetyLabelPetFoodFeedingForDabiesPetFood for DogsPetFooding for DogsFor CatsPetFoodforDogs for CatsPetfoodplusPetFoodprocessingPetFoodPetsmartPetfoodservicePetfoodprocessingPetfoodprocessingPetfoodspetfoodsplusPetfoodsuppliersPetfoodproductspetfoodproductsplusPetfeederPetfood for DogsThe investigation is being conducted by Health Canada’s Food Safety and Quality Directorate, as part of its ongoing efforts to combat foodborne illness, and is expected to produce findings by the end of the year.

The department will publish a preliminary report within the next two months.

Health Canada says it will continue to review food-related complaints and other information.
