A dog food tray has been discovered in a Melbourne pet food company’s pet foods collection.

The container is a pet food bag and it was discovered in the company’s Melbourne headquarters by workers yesterday, a spokesman for Pet Snack Bar said.

The spokesman said the container was found in the Pet Snakie collection, which is owned by Melbourne Pet Food.

The spokeswoman said the company was “deeply shocked” and is now conducting an investigation into the discovery.

“We have no idea why the container has been found in our collection and are investigating it,” the spokesman said.

“The investigation is ongoing and we will be making further statements as soon as we have more information.”

The spokeswoman would not confirm whether the container had been used in the pet food business.

The company said it had contacted the Australian Federal Police about the container.

The spokesperson said the bag was found by workers who were inspecting the collection.

“They were working on the pet tray when they discovered it and immediately called police,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesman also said the investigation was continuing and Pet Snacker Bar had “no further comment”.
